There are three main types of production processes for fiberglass:
1. Reciprocating fiber winding process
2. Continuous fiber winding process
3. Centrifugal casting process.
Reciprocating filament winding process (belonging to the fixed length method): in this process method, the dip tank reciprocates with the rotating mandrel, the long fiber glass fiber is placed relative to the mandrel axis with a certain bevel angle, the auxiliary angle (i.e. the winding angle) is controlled by the ratio of the moving speed of the dip tank and the mandrel speed, and the translational motion of the dip tank is controlled by the computerization of mechatronics. The number of winding layers gradually increases until reaching the designed wall thickness. After the winding is completed, the resin in the product is basically cured. After solidification, remove the core mold from the fiberglass steel pipe.
Continuous fiber winding process (belonging to the continuous method): This process refers to the process in which a pipe is made through a feeding station that supplies a mixture of resin pre impregnated untwisted roving, short cut fiberglass fibers, and resin sand during movement. The pipe is made during the continuous advancement of the core mold.
Centrifugal casting process (belonging to the fixed length method): In this process, cut glass fiber reinforced material and sand are fed into a steel mold fixed on the bearing. Unsaturated resin with catalyst is injected into one end of the steel mold to impregnate the reinforced material. Under the action of centrifugal force, the resin displaces the air in the fibers and fillers, creating a dense composite material without pores. Due to the action of centrifugal force, the inner wall of the pipe forms a smooth A smooth and resin rich inner surface layer, allowing pipes to solidify at higher temperatures. The pipe manufactured using this method is also known as fiberglass sand pipe.
Gloryear FRP is using the reciprocating fiber winding process to produce pipes than the other two production processes. Because the fiberglass steel pipes produced by the reciprocating fiber winding process have a wider range of uses and good applicability.
